Find out how Human-Nature Escapes are ‘making it happen’ with their installation of Walking Galleries!

With the support of ‘Make it Happen’ funding, which was recently available from Stoke-on-Trent City Council exclusively for our champions, Human-Nature Escapes are ‘making it happen’ with their new Walking Galleries’ project.

Situated within the local community, these Walking Galleries showcase three of Human-Nature Escapes’ eBooks as art installations, encouraging the public to get out into the wonderful green spaces Stoke-on-Trent has to offer (being one of the UKs Top 10 Green Cities!) and in doing so, improve wellbeing, promote self-care, and boost mental health.

Why not take a break from the busyness of everyday life and step out for a walk around Westport Lake, stopping off to see Fascinating Finds along the way, or around Hanley Park to view Words Escape Me? Stay tuned for walk number three Poetry in Motion, which will be available soon.

For those who might be unable to view these in-person or would like to take a nature escape from home, you can engage through the projects ‘Virtual Nature Escapes’ approach – which provides digital wellbeing access to nature for those who might not be able to readily access local nature sites. This includes the online Wellbeing eBook library which features 5 free-to-read eBooks, created with the kind contributions of imagery and poems from individuals around the UK and beyond.

This imagery will also be featured in Therapeutic Nature Slideshows which are aimed at being shown in waiting rooms settings across the City, to help aid in the creation of a more enjoyable and mindful experience, as well as introducing individuals to the project for further mindful engagement.

Lastly, you can also get involved with the creation of future eBooks by sharing your nature photos and poetry via social media, just tag @HNEscapesCIC
