WISE Ability provide a wide range of services to empower people through employment, skills and training.

SWITCH is a free, immersive, 4-week program which uses Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT) to increase an individual’s cognitive skills, including memory, attention, visual and spatial awareness and executive functions, by carrying out a series of games and tasks using an online training system.

SWITCH only requires 9 ½ hours commitment per week from the participant, and the course can be delivered online or face to face. Some time will be spent 1-to-1 with a dedicated mentor, some will be in a group setting and some may be independent work. However, the program is tailored to the individuals needs and requirements and they will be supported throughout the 4 weeks through a personalised plan.

As well as an increase in cognitive skills, this course will help individuals develop a more positive mindset giving them additional confidence and the ability to overcome any stress or problems that they may be facing.

Having been subject to various restrictions over the last 18 months due to covid and now the imminent easing of said restrictions, members of the community may be feeling anxious and lacking self-esteem. SWITCH will help to ease these feelings and give people the additional confidence and motivation to progress in any way that they choose, whether that be entering education, applying for employment or becoming more active in their everyday lives.

The objective of this project is to support participants who are aged 19 and over to realise their potential and to engage in positive progressions such as entering education, applying for employment, and becoming more active in their everyday lives. Any individual over the age of 19, unemployed and living in Stoke-on-Trent is eligible to be enrolled on the program.
