Seeking volunteer researchers for national programme

VAST and partners are seeking 15 new volunteers to help us in the research phase of the Volunteering for Health project.

Volunteering for Health is a £10m national programme to show how volunteering could be a vital part of delivering health and social care now and in the future.

Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent is one of 15 areas in the country chosen to deliver this project which is being led locally by VAST, Support Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Partnership.

Funded by NHS Charities Together, NHS England, and CW+ Trust, the three-year project aims to promote volunteering in the sector as well as providing volunteer opportunities for those who work in healthcare roles.

As a Volunteering for Health – Research and Engagement Champions you’ll be gathering feedback and capturing data through surveys, case studies, and focus groups.

This important volunteer role will enable us to understand what works well for patients, carers, NHS volunteers and NHS staff and help drive improvement in volunteering practices and experiences.

Volunteers will need to be able to travel independently to a range of local NHS and community-based locations and be able to commit at least 1-2 hours a week to the project for a minimum of 2 months. They will be given an induction, training and opportunities to shadow an experienced member of staff.
