Problem

A local resident has reported receiving an unsolicited telephone where they were informed that their Lifeline system service has been suspended as it was obsolete. The resident was then told they needed to pay a fee of £185 for a new system and asked to provide their bank details.

Action

This is a scam you never give out your bank details or personal details to anyone contacting you via an unsolicited telephone call. Always be wary of anyone contacting you unsolicited. If you want to check for yourself we would always recommend contacting your Telecare provider on a trusted number.
