October is Breast Cancer awareness month, but it is important to be aware of the signs of breast cancer all year round.
Checking your breasts only takes a few minutes, there’s no special technique and you don’t need training. It’s as simple as Touch, Look Check.
Breast Cancer UK have a wide range of information online on a range of topics including symptoms, types of breast cancer and support.

There are also number of local support groups in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, these include:
- Pink Sisters and Misters, a self-help support group for those affected by all types of cancer, including friends and family who host monthly meetings in Birches Head and Kidsgrove.
- Butterflies, based in Stafford, Butterflies Breast Cancer Support group is a voluntary group that meets on a monthly basis.
- Breast Cancer Now: Living with Secondary Breast Cancer support group, offering both face to face meet up groups and online Living With Secondary Breast Cancer services.
