Dazzling Futures Services CIC
Dazzling Futures Services CIC is an organisation providing vital, one-to-one support for homeless refugees, helping them navigate life in a new country with dignity and hope. Many individuals arrive facing significant barriers, including language difficulties, unfamiliar systems, and cultural differences, which can make tasks such as accessing healthcare or securing food and clothing incredibly challenging.
In part funded by our Tackling Health Inequalities Grant Programme, their project offers intensive, tailored support to individuals of all ages, helping them connect with essential services such as GPs, dentists, and mental health providers. With a deep-understanding of the health inequalities faced by individuals, Dazzling Futures recognise the cultural differences that can surround mental health in some communities and take a sensitive, inclusive approach to wellbeing. They are working in partnership with NHS Talking Therapies and the NHS Refugee Mental Health Team to ensure people can access the right support and reduce barriers to appointment attendance.
Alongside this, Dazzling Futures Services CIC provide assistance to people via life skills sessions, equipping individuals with tools to manage daily life independently. The team is also developing health and wellbeing advocacy, including a poster raising awareness of the health inequalities and challenges faced by refugees. These materials will be shared across key community locations, such as GP practices, libraries, and support centres.
The project continues to grow in reach and reputation, receiving regular referrals from across Staffordshire. With continued support, it aims to expand its impact and continue building a strong foundation of care, inclusion, and empowerment for those who need it most. They also aim to assist residents to find employment opportunities and to move on into independent private rented housing where appropriate.
