Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. But around a third of cases are preventable (Breast Cancer UK).
Every October people all over the world come together to help raise awareness of Breast Cancer, and to support those affected.
Breast Cancer Now have lots of online and downloadable resources you can use to help raise awareness throughout the month and on Wear it Pink Day, on Friday the 21st. These include social graphics, posters and infographics such as the one below on signs and symptoms to look out for, and how to Touch, Look, Check.

There a also number of local support groups in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, these include:
- Pink Sisters and Misters, a self-help support group for those affected by all types of cancer, including friends and family who host monthly meetings in Birches Head and Kidsgrove.
- Butterflies, based in Stafford, Butterflies Breast Cancer Support group is a voluntary group that meets on a monthly basis.
- Breast Cancer Now: Living with Secondary Breast Cancer support group, offering both face to face meet up groups and online Living With Secondary Breast Cancer services.
