Staying Safe in Hot Weather

When heat waves hit, it can have effects on people’s health and wellbeing, there are some important tips for staying safe and well.

Remember to stay safe as you enjoy the hot weather over the summer by:

  • Staying out of the sun when the UV index is highest (between 11am and 3pm)
  • If you do need to go out, try to stay in the shade, cover up with loose clothing and a hat, and wear SPF of at least 50+
  • Staying hydrated
  • Looking out for vulnerable people including those aged 65+, young children and those with health conditions
