LeDeR Conference 2023

LeDeR is a service improvement programme for people with a learning disability and autistic people.

Established in 2017 and funded by NHS England, it’s the first of its kind. LeDeR works to:

  • improve care for people with a learning disability and autistic people
  • reduce health inequalities for people with a learning disability and autistic people
  • prevent people with a learning disability and autistic people from early deaths

Local Conference

LeDeR is the NHS programme where we learn from the lives and deaths of those with a Learning Disability and Autism.

The conference on Thursday 6 July 2023, 10am-4pm, will promote awareness and further support of the LeDeR programme across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.  To register for yourself, or someone else to attend, please see our registration form.

A summary of the day can be found below:

  • The first half of the morning is aimed at professionals from Healthcare, Social Care and Education and will focus on what the LeDeR programme is, progress to date, learning from action and future priorities.
  • From 11.40am onwards the conference is aimed at professionals (Health, Social Care and Education) and people living with a Learning Disability and/or Autism, parents, carers and families. Therefore, a longer refreshment break has been created to allow for individuals that may wish to leave and/or join the conference at this time.
  • All individuals and professionals are more than welcome to attend the conference all day. The presentations and agenda have been created to capture all audiences.
  • There will also be stalls (Health passport, NHS services, public sector services, charities, NHS screening services, Primary Care Networks) which will be setup in an adjacent room and on-going throughout the day, if delegates wish to visit these.
  • The conference also has a separate quiet dining room should individuals require this during the day.
