Accessing support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can be complex. So how do families with language or cultural barriers find the support they need?
The Parent Carer Forum has highlighted an increasing number of families in Stoke-on-Trent where English is not their first language. We are keen to better understand these barriers and to work collaboratively to address them.
As such, a focus group for families where English is not their first language is being held, to discuss inclusion and their hopes for their children.
Can you help us reach families you are aware of that would like to feed in to this discussion? Or are you able to provide feedback from the families in your community to help enable local voices to be heard?
The event takes place on Wednesday 4th October at 10.30am in The Dudson Centre
