Have Your Say | Help improve the accessibility of Stoke-on-Trent’s polling stations

Stoke-on-Trent City Council elections will take place on Thursday 4 May 2023, and the city council wishes to make voting at a polling station an enjoyable and easy experience for everyone.

There are many options in place to support those with disabilities at polling stations., these include:

  • Large print ballot papers
  • Instructions in polling stations and polling booths for how to vote
  • Tactile voting devices
  • Magnifying glasses
  • Use of existing accessibility apps on a mobile phone (please inform polling staff upon your arrival if you need to use these)
  • Wheelchair accessible polling booths
  • Ramps at buildings with steps

Even more support to those with disabilities to ensure voting is accessible to all is available, if you would like additional support at the polling station click here.

An online informal chat will be held on Monday 13 March at 6pm to share information and understand how those with disabilities can be better supported to vote for the local election in May. If you would like to attend, please click here to book your place.
